Let the peoples sing

Let the peoples sing is a biannual contest for amateur choirs and in 2019 it took place at Palau de la Música Catalana. TV3, the national TV channel, commissioned us the production and editing of audio-visual material to promote the great finals gala, as well as the update of the corporate identity of the event. Even though it was a classical gala, the goal was to create pieces that would breathe Barcelona’s air, as well as a modern and contemporary tone.

REBRANDING

Bringing such an event to the TV screens from Catalonia was a big challenge, both for the TV channel and for us, that’s why updating the corporate image of the event was an important part of the project. The objective keeping the elegance and the style that characterizes the choral music and modernizing its “wrapping paper” in order to adapt it to the TV format. Having this in mind, then, we kept all the essential elements from which we started (colours, shapes and fonts), but we gave them a modern twist. We turned primary colours into faded ones (one for each category of the contest) so they reminded of the inverted dome of the Palau de la Música Catalana, we overlaid and animated the classical geometrical elements and we revitalised a standard font.

GRAPHIC

We were also commissioned to design and to animate an infographic video to learn about the history of the contest and to understand how the gala worked. This was the result.

OPENINGS

The audience had to know each group before their concerts. For this, we turned them into prints and placed them in places all over Barcelona such as MACBA museum, Universitat de Barcelona, Fòrum or the harbour.
